Point form update

Because I'm lazy. But I have some worthy LJ-able things to mention from lately.

-Ahahahahahahahahahahaha Dr Horrible. <3 I missed the last episode, though :(
-I'm looking forward to the fireworks this weekend.
-Work sucks and is screwing everyone around schedule-wise.
-Colin, Marc and I went to see the Dark Knight. BATMAAAAAAAAAN. OMG.
-... AVATAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrr omgomgomgomg (I finally finished it and caught up on time for the finale)
-Colin took me to the aquarium-- we went with Raynie and her hubby and we had an awesome dinner. I took about 100 crappy photos and maybe 20-30 turned out okay. Stupid aquarium glass.
-Being productive on Doujinshi
-My room is awesome
-Artemis Fowl was awesome
-Attempting to play Zelda
-Had funtimes with Kaitekat, Ruka and co
-I haven't been able to run the past couple of days :(
-Tack is a brat
-I need an I, my, me day
-Contemplating an internets hiatus from DA, LJ, and farcebook.
-MSN has some serious issues, man. It needs to take a chill pill.

I think I covered the most important things. :)

Lazing about in the summer

Hmm, what have I done lazying away on my Summer off from school?

Finished up Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica. I found out I liked Starbuck more than I thought when I was cursing the bloody writers for seemingly doing away with her before her story was done. But, that's past now. Next it's the Razor movie, and then catching up with everyone else for season 4. It's an enjoyable show, but I don't think it's fantastic. Hell of a lot better than most of the shit on American tv, but not fantastic. Balthar is still my numero uno character.

I'm just about done with season 1 of old school Classic Doctor Who with the first doctor, William Hartnell, and I'm loving it. Everything from the old school fight scenes, to the girls clothes, tot he funny music (if there's music at all), it's fun, and the Doctor, personality-wise, still has several of the same personality quirks and weaknesses, so it's been really fun watching it. Susan and the Doctor together without Ian and Barbara are adorable, though Susan could scream less in my opinion. It's very unbecoming for a Time Lady I think. XD Also on the Classic Who note... WTF BBC! I mean seriously, WTF! How could you delete so many fracking episodes, because I'm having to skip through whole story arcs, and I was looking forward to Marco Polo especially. All of it gone. And only one Toymaker arc ep exists, as then you're missing Dalek episodes? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~

Methinks I'm becoming a serious Doctor Who nerd now, not that I wasn't before. But in the Who fandom, it seems to be one thing to be a NuWho nerd (see, they even have a name for New Doctor Who), and an all around Who nerd. It helps I suppose that there are plenty of people in the IRC channel I've been hanging out with out to show me every Who thing they can suggest. I'm even getting Dalek Porn. More on the Dalek Porn when my DVD comes in XD

I really miss my weekly dose of David Tennant. *insert huge sigh here* And now Hamlet is about to start up with him in it, and I don't get to fly to London to see it cause of the collapse of the American dollar. Damn you economy, I HAD the money till ticket prices skyrocketed.

Tried waxing my legs with some new gel strips from Sally whatcha call her, and well... they really sucked. Left little patches here and there. I don't suggest anyone try them. Wish there was a place in town that did leg waxing, cause I hate shaving my legs, and I would pay someone 20 bucks to do them for me cause I make a mess with wax.

I rode a bike around town yesterday cause I couldn't drive my car for reasons gone now, and I think I almost had a heart attack. Oh where have the days gone when I could spend the whole day on a bike? They went with my tonned thighs and small butt, that's where. I need to get back into shape.

I want a parasol or an Gothic Lolita top hat for my Poupee doll so much. But zomg, they cost too many fraking ribbons!

XD I just used frack in the same sentence as ribbon.

AHHHHH! Someone block me from the Poupee Girl site. I am spending WAY too much time on it!! But I want more bows, and more stuff, and I wanna see more cute items girls near and far have in their closets. Me, who isn't really that fashionably motivated. Seriously, ripping through my closet in search of stuff to take pictures of... it really has made me come to the conclusion that it is pas time go through my stuff and get rid of the 80% of crap I never touch. That, and I need to get a loads of laundry done.

It's Attack of the Poupee Dolls!

Ok, it's official. I am seriously addicted to this fraking Japanese doll dress-up site. [info]evilnekohilda linked to it on her lj, and now I can't stop. Not only do you get to dress up your doll and shop for it, but you get your money via uploading actual photos of the clothes and items you own. Pretty much anything in your closet, from makeup to your favorite plushies. Leave it to the Japanese to make sharing your fashion fun and cute. Usually I don't even bat an eye at those custom avatar sites but... this is addicting. And I need more friends on it.

Come on girls, get on. All you need is an e-mail address and the camera on your phone. I wanna see what you guys have in your closets, and what type of style you have, cause you only get so much from reading your blogs.

To join, you just click on the picture above (goes to my Poupe's page) or go to http://pupe.jp/. The site is mainly in English, with a few menus in Japanese only, but once you click around you'll figure out where everything is. And there is a good guide is in the following community [info]poupee_girl. Their memories section is full of FAQ guides, and will tell you everything you need to know.

XD God damn the site is so cute.

Ж-Men...but not the ones you might expect!
This week LJ Russia launched Ж-Men, a new comedy series about superheroes, inspired by the LJ communities dedicated to superheros, comics and cartoons. The title's "Ж" comes from ЖЖ, the nickname for LiveJournal in Russia.

Ж-Men's script is written by a group of LJ enthusiasts who also happen to be television professionals. Who knew? Following the premiere, five more episodes will be broadcast over the next two weeks. We hope you find the series fresh and enjoyable.

This is, of course, an experiment for LiveJournal. As always, we'd love to hear what you think!

Random Spiels...

I tried out the new Princess Bride game. Really simple game play, but it seems like a great game for kids. All in all, it was cute beyond cute, and I loved all the reanimated scenes. Westly's a bishi. XD

Other than that, basically helped my mom pick out a new sofa for the house, and lazed around. I really need to get to sewing that Romana costume, but the patterns I bought are lost somewhere in my black hole of a room, and I have yet to find them.

I can't help but get excited over the amount of people joining the Doctor Who group for the Dragoncon Parade. Aparently they've always had no more than 15 people really, and this year the number is over 50 and growing. I can't wait to be surrounded by geeks all dressed up and proclaiming geek pride to the world. I just hope the silver go go boots I bought will be comfortable for the parade marching. Either way, it looks like I'll have a fun group to hang out with because they have a photoshoot planned, as well as a dinner, and tons of panels. Also now that Jumpcon seems to have been canceled nation wide, it looks like several people are trying to get Dragoncon to get the Doctor Who guest they had, such as Sylvester McCoy and Mary Tamm. If they get them for Dragoncon, it'll only push the con up in its awesome factor.

Still praying James Marsters doesn't cancel. There are rumors he may have schedule problems.

Going to see Hellboy 2 tonight, and looking forward to it. :D KITTENS!! DEL TORO! BEAST IN NEW MAKEUP. hell yeah.

Off to work I go now.

Oh, and while everyone's going nuts over the leaked Terminator tailer, I'll be giddy enough over this Outlander one.

Vikings and Aliens? FUCK YEAH! Sounds nutty enough to work for me.

Reaction to Bush for the day

As a young American, new to the world and goings on in the world known as Politics, I can't help but get confused and utterly bewildered by the things going on with our country. Specifically with the issue of Bush and the Offshore Drilling ban.

From what I get of it, it's just some stunt to make Bush look good, and the further put blame on Democrats.

And not only that, but it's an insult to the intelligence of the American people.

I mean really, on one hand you have the people who for the most part know what's going on. They're the ones who know the facts: That this act is not the answer. Big oil is already sitting on land put aside for them to drill, and they're NOT doing it. Giving them more land will just add to the amount they do squat with, and change nothing except take away from conservation efforts. It's been proven it will do absolutely nothing to help with gas prices now or in the next couple of years, and even then, it'll do nothing unless oil companies try to increase production.

And then you have the other people, the people who don't even know what's going on, or the people who just listen to Bush, and honestly think that this is the answer because they haven't been properly informed on the details of this legislation. They listen to Bush, like with his speech today, and they think "hmm, Democrats are keeping my gas prices high" because that's what the President told them. A President in my opinion, demands the trust of the people because it's his role. He's supposed to take care of us as a country, but all I see with Bush is his continuing efforts to polarize the country and put blame elsewhere, and to come up with "solutions" that are just hollow shells designed to continue with the polarizing.

It's sick. Maybe this is just how politics work with our country, because I really don't know since I came of age with the Bush Administration, but if this IS what politics are like and always have been with our country... how the fuck did we ever get anything done? Is it like this with all governments in the World?

I'm so glad I'm not making Politics my career path.

That said... this song so fits this strain of thought right now.

[info]angel_p

I think I am going to go on an uninstalling spree and get rid of the unimportant programs. The laptop is slower than ever before and it's pissing me off. :(

Then again a lot of things have been bothering me, but given the kind of cluttered up living at home, I seem to get bothered easily lately. Thankfully, I think this is getting temporarily solved. I finally bought new shelves, so my room feels less cluttered! It's still messy, but I went into every crevice of this room and pulled everything out from underneath boxes etc... so everything filled up right away anyways ;_; I have a LOT of stuff and I need to do something about it.

As one of the results, I found hideously old pictures.

Anyways, I haven't been very active online (or really doing anything much at all) during the past week. Tuesday Colin and I went to see Wall-E. It really was a sweet movie ♥ and impressive because they actually made something out of the wtf that I got out of the trailers. We're going to see the Dark Knight on saturday.... >8D hurhurhur I can't wait.

My new shelves seems to help the look of my room a LOT. I was pretty exhausted the whole week from setting them up and dealing with a brat cat who likes to wake me up at 8 in the morning. Also, my mom tried to use reverse psychology on me the other day hahaha. She was all "well if she wants shelves I don't care. She has money." But instead I went and bought them when she said it >8D so she was pretty pissed off at me. Haha. Pissed off enough that she insulted me >8( but that's okay. The sentiment is mutual. 8D

Also I went to see Colin's relatives from Ireland. That was pretty awesome. They are very sweet~~ I really want to go to ireland one day. ;_; and europe. I will save up~~~ and on saturday epic times were had with Jessica~~ we met up with Colin, Marc and their friend Mike. We ran around metrotown, we went to book off (OMFG I found the Jem tape I used to have for $2 T_T) and then we went to richmond~~ I was about to get Kamichama Karin but I wasn't sure if I had that volume yet or not. Then Night Market times were had! Yay for yummy food. I bought a headband and a solar powered mario mushroom. Yet I need to get rid of stuff. It was cut off short though, because everyone was pretty exhausted.

What else is there? Work pisses me off (they gave me HOMEWORK. WAT). I love my coworkers but it's the nature of retail that I don't like. Hahaha. They're trying to brainwash everyone and it's stupid. Also, lol AE. I'm not gonna comment much on it. I was thinking about not going, but Meggu still wants to come for AE. So, I'll still be at the table :3 mind you, I'll only be at the table, except for food times XD

And uh, yeah. I'm gonna clean up the rest of my room 8D I'm trying to cut down on my list of things to do and ditching the unimportant things. There's way too much. ><

It looks like 2008's been a rough year so far for everyone. :( let's hang in there!
